Guibert Etienne

Pastor Guibert Etienne was born to Haitian parents in Nassau, Bahamas and grew up on the island of Eleuthera. It was there that he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 8. He transitioned from the Bahamas to the Untied States in 1990 and settled in North Miami Beach, Florida where he attended middle school and high school. Throughout those years he remained active in church as a youth department leader, Sabbath school teacher and Deacon.

From high school he attended the University of Florida where he received an undergraduate studies in Exercise Sports Sciences with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Health Science Education. Two years post graduation he married the former Cindy-Ann P. Storey of Trinidad and Tobago, a graduate of Oakwood University and the University of Florida. Upon marriage the Etienne's began to attend the Maranatha SDA church in Miami Gardens, FL and remained there for 6 years prior to moving to the seminary.

During their 6 years at Maranatha, Cindy and Guibert were able to birth and raise 3 children under the grace of God. God also enabled Pastor Etienne to acquire two masters degrees: a Masters in Public Health and a Masters in Business Administration. during their stay at Maranatha, God was preparing his family and himself for ministry. In 2008, the family moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan, where Guibert studied theology at Andrews University Theological Seminary. the experience there was life altering, for both him and his family, which grew to 4 children upon their return to Maranatha.

Pastor Etienne worked under the leadership of Pastor Newton King and his wife Dr. Syllette King. Now we are blessed to have Pastor Etienne as our pastor here at Covenant.
